“Why did you propose in the dirty snow in the backyard?” – My Grandma.¬†

Photographing Julie and Josh’s engagement photos was a tremendous honor and to be there as it happened was an added bonus. They were terrific in front of the camera and a ton of fun to be around. You can easily see what makes them great together and how in love they are.¬†They are a wonderful couple, and I am honored to say that I am a part of that couple.

Yes, we got engaged! (And, yes, I was trying to be witty.)

I proposed to Julie in the wintery landscape of Northern Ontario. After hearing stories of my parents seeing Northern Lights on their wedding night, my plan was to propose to Julie under them. However, while building snowmen on the first night, under an overcast sky I was impatient and decided to propose right then. She said yes! After celebrating for a few moments with my family, we looked up at the sky and BOOM. NORTHERN freaking LIGHTS! It was incredible and a moment I will never forget.

As a photographer, of course the very next thing we did following the proposal was take photos. Selfie time! That ‘dirty snow in the backyard’ really was a great backdrop.
